    Bayern legend shows basketball skills

Muller engaged with several basketball traditions, including taking photographs with the NBA's Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy, which is awarded annually to the NBA champions.

Following the conclusion of the closely contested game, Müller had the opportunity to meet with Raptors players Sandro Mamukelashvili and Jamison Battle. And following that encounter, Muller stepped onto the court after the arena had largely emptied to attempt a few basketball shots of his own. The soccer star, known for his precise finishing and spatial awareness on the pitch, tested his shooting touch on the hardwood, showcasing his natural athletic curiosity and willingness to step outside his comfort zone.

    Star-studded presence in Vancouver

Vancouver hasn’t had an NBA team since the Grizzlies relocated to Memphis in 2001, but Tuesday’s action brought some of the sport’s biggest names back to the city - including former MVP Nikola Jokić - alongside soccer stars like Müller.

Vancouver’s profile continues to rise as a 2026 FIFA World Cup host city, and local enthusiasm is clear. The Whitecaps have averaged more than 28,000 fans at BC Place this season, with attendance surging since Müller’s arrival.
