Born in Honolulu, the defender has been steadily progressing on both the club and country ranks. Last season he discussed what making it to Augsburg's first team.
"I’m delighted to be given the chance to prove myself in the first team," Banks said. "It’s a childhood dream come true for me, and I’ll do everything I can to make it to the Bundesliga with FCA."
Banks’ rise hasn’t been confined to Augsburg. Internationally, he remains eligible for Germany but has so far represented only U.S. youth national teams. In 2023, he featured at the U-17 World Cup alongside top American prospects like Nimfasha Berchimas, Keryol Figueroa, and Cruz Medina, as the U.S. exited in the Round of 16 against Germany. He has since appeared up to the U-20 level, recording an assist against France, though he declined a call-up last summer to focus on preseason with his club. Most recently, Banks was called into the USMNT senior camp this September, though he did not feature in either match.
