The Argentinian was supposed to be out for three to four months after suffering a shoulder injury two months ago, but looked more than up to speed while rehabbing his injury. Not only that, he delivered a moment of magic when he spotted St Louis II's goalkeeper off his line. López, receiving the ball just inside his own half, looked up once before launching a perfectly weighted shot that sailed over the stranded goalkeeper and nestled into the net.

López's appearance with The Town FC exemplifies the growing importance of MLS NEXT Pro as a developmental platform and rehabilitation resource for first-team players. For The Town FC, currently building momentum with their second consecutive home victory, having a player of López's caliber available - even temporarily - elevates the level of play and offers younger players the opportunity to learn from an established professional.

López is expected to continue his rehabilitation process with the goal of returning to the San Jose Earthquakes lineup for their upcoming MLS fixtures. The Argentine's successful 46-minute appearance with The Town FC suggests he could be available for first-team selection sooner rather than later, although no return date has been specified by either party. The Town, on the other hand, prepare to face Sporting KC II on May 17 and then face Colorado Rapids U-23 on May 25.
