The Rossoneri crashed out of continental competition in disappointing fashion, with a 2-1 loss suffered at Stadio Olimpico. Having already been beaten 1-0 by their domestic rivals at San Siro, Milan were never really in the quarter-final contest.

Disgruntled supporters in the Italian capital made their feelings clear at the final whistle, with Milan only snatching a consolation effort in the 85th minute despite seeing their opponents reduced to 10 men just past the half-hour mark.

Pulisic and Musah were handed starting berths for the crucial fixture, but both were replaced in the 69th minute after contributing little to the collective cause. They were then among those that had to make a walk of shame towards the travelling fans at the end of the game.

Milan followers aimed jeers and dismissive hand gestures in the direction of Stefano Pioli’s players, with there little for them to cheer on a frustrating night that has seen any hope of landing major silverware in 2023-24 come to a close.
