USMNT star Sergino Dest reveals key factor behind his resurgence at PSV after failing to impress at AC Milan and Barcelona

Speaking to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf Dest revealed that PSV has reignited the passion in his heart as a footballer. The fans and club welcomed him with a 'warmth' he described as needed following a disappointing stint with Milan and struggling to break through at Barcelona under Xavi.

"It gives you freedom, if you don't become a kind of robot. To be honest, at first I had no intention of returning to Holland, but suddenly I had a very good feeling. I needed the warmth that the people at PSV gave me at this moment in my career. I had to feel again well and really feeling at home," he said. "So from there I was able to show myself again. Why didn't I go back to Ajax? I don't really have an opinion on that. There was a new board and they decide. I like to hear that many people think that Ajax should have brought me back."

Under Peter Bosz, Dest has become a club favorite and it's obvious he is finding himself again as a footballer. He's been silky smooth as a right full-back, displaying ridiculous skills against Arsenal in the Champions League while delivering audacious assists in the Eridivisie. PSV sit atop the league and have advanced in the Champions League - thanks to plenty of help from Dest.

PSV are not back in action until the new year, but have two friendlies scheduled for early January. Their return to Europe arrives in February, when they take on Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.
