    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Lionesses fans were shocked when Bronze revealed live on TV that she had played the tournament in Switzerland with a serious injury to her left leg. Bronze scored a crucial goal, netted her penalty in the semi-final shootout against Sweden and played a starring role in the victorious final.

  • WHAT BOMPASTOR SAID

Bompastor said: "It's difficult for now to put a timeframe on Lucy's return, but she's doing well. She's in a good place mentally and physically, so hopefully she will come back soon. I think she's still some weeks away from a return on the pitch."
