NFL Week 11 WINNERS & LOSERS: Ja'Marr Chase suspended as several teams make strides for division title

Week 11 in the NFL witnesses several teams try to take a stranglehold in their quest for division titles, while others may have had the preverbal nail in the coffin put into their season.

The week kicked off with the New England Patriots picking up a 27-14 win over the division rival New York Jets on Thursday Night Football. New England was able to keep a two-game division lead over the Buffalo Bills, who were able to pick up a 44-32 win of their own against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The other team in the AFC East was also able to pickup a win after the Miami Dolphins defeated the Washington Commanders 16-13 in overtime, as the team continues to play hard for head coach Mike McDaniels whose job is very much on the hot seat.

Elsewhere in the NFC East the New York Giants also suffered a defeat against the Green Bay Packers. It was not all bad news for the division however after the Philadelphia Eagles picked up a hard fought win against the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football as Quinnen Williams made his Cowboys debut following a deadline day trade from the New York Jets.

Shedeur Sanders finally made his long awaited NFL regular season debut for the Cleveland Browns after starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel was injured and placed into concussion protocol. Sanders debut ended in a shaky performance and a 23-16 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

In other AFC North news the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in a game that had lingering consequences for both teams. Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers suffered a fracture in his left wrist, while Bengals wideout Ja'Marr Chase was suspended for spitting on Jalen Ramsey.

Elsewhere the San Francisco 49ers picked up a 41-22 win over the Arizona Cardinals, the Jacksonville Jaguars absolutely embarrassed the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers picked up division wins.

GOAL breaks down the winners & losers from Week 11 in the NFL.

    WINNER: Denver Broncos

After defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 22-19 the Denver Broncos have put themselves in firm position to win the AFC East. Denver pulled off their fifth fourth-quarter comeback of the season to take a 4-game lead on the Chiefs in the AFC West, while also boosting their advantage of the Los Angeles Chargers to a 2-game lead.

Denver is now set to head into the bye week riding an 8-game winning streak and are set to play three very winnable games against the Las Vegas Raiders, Green Bay Packers, and Jacksonville Jaguars before facing the Chiefs and Chargers in the final two weeks of the season.

    LOSER: Atlanta Falcons

Things keep going from bad to worse for the Atlanta Falcons after suffering a 30-27 loss in overtime to the Carolina Panthers. The loss not only extended the Falcons losing streak to five, but it also set them three games back in the chase for the NFC South.

To make matters worse sophomore quarterback Michael Penix exited the game with a knee injury after aggravating a knee sprain and bone bruise that he suffered earlier in the season. Atlanta placed Penix on injured reserve meaning the QB will be out for at least the next four games.

There is also belief that Penix suffered damage to his acl, which would sideline the him for the remainder of the season.

    WINNER: Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams took a huge step forward in the battle for the NFC North after picking up a 21-19 win over the division rival Seattle Seahawks.

LA was able to thank their defense for stepping up in a the win after they intercepted four passes from Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold. It was the first time the Seahawks defense had recorded four interceptions in a single game since Week 16 of 2022.

The Rams had entered the game with a 50% chance to win the division and those odds improved to 66% after Sunday's win, according to ESPN Research.

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Buffalo Bills - NFL 2025Getty Images Sport

    LOSER: Keon Coleman

Despite the Buffalo Bills picking up a 44-33 win over Tampa Bay Buccaneers, starting wide receiver was inactive due to an off the field issue. Initially it was reported that Coleman was not inactive listed as inactive for on the field performance.

Details would later emerge that the second-year pass catcher was a healthy scratch for the first time in his career after being late to a team meeting on Friday morning. Furthermore, offensive tackle Dion Dawkins seemed to challenge Coleman 'grow up' when speaking to reporters, potentially hinting at bigger issues behind the scenes with the WR.

How Coleman and the Bills move forward may be worth keeping an eye on as the season rolls on.

  • Chicago Bears v Minnesota Vikings - NFL 2025Getty Images Sport

    WINNER: Chicago Bears

It may have taken a game-winning field goal but the Chicago Bears pushed their winning streak four games after beating the Minnesota Vikings 19-17.

Chicago had in fact blown a 13-point and allowed Minnesota to take the lead with 50 seconds left, before a 56-yard kickoff return played a major role in setting up the Bears for the game-winning 48 yard field goal as time expired.

The Bears have't won games in the prettiest fashion this year, however they sit at 7-3 and in first place in the tightly contested NFC North.

Chicago will have a chance to keep the winning ways going this week when they face the Pittsburgh Steelers, who may be without starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

    LOSER: Ja'Marr Chase

Forget the fact that the Cincinnati Bengals suffered a 34-12 defeat to their AFC North rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers to drop their record to 3-7, but superstar wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is now facing a suspension.

Chase appeared to spit on Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey during the game which led to a scuffle and Ramsey being ejected from the game. Ramsey didn't mince words when telling reporters he swung his fist at Chase after the wide out spat on him while the two were talking smack to each other, which the WR would go on to deny during his own media availability.

In an incident earlier this season Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter was ejected from a game against the Dallas Cowboys after he was seen spitting at quarterback Dak Prescott during a pregame incident. Carter was also received a fine and a 1-game suspension that was applied to the game against Dallas due to the timing of his ejection.
