    THE BIGGER PICTURE

PSG headed into this tournament as one of the favourites to lift the first edition of the revamped Club World Cup. They only staked their claim further after a 4-0 battering of Atletico Madrid in their opening game. However, they slumped to a shock 1-0 defeat Botafogo in their second game, prompting Enrique to hail the Brazilian side as the best team his side had faced all season. The Spanish coach has also shared that he is "very ambitious" to ensure that Les Parisiens continue being the most dominant force, not just in Europe but also globally.

  • WHAT JOAO NEVES SAID

Speaking to the media after the game, Neves said: "It was tough. It's hot. They're a good team with the ball. We did everything we could to win. We won well. I'm very happy. Our coach is incredible. He gives us everything we need to do our best. He gives us confidence. He wants us to play with the ball and make the other team run. And when we don't have the ball, we have to get it back very quickly. No matter the team, it's always the same. We work like that."
