'It's a huge honour' - Nico Jackson blown away by link up with Harry Kane at Bayern Munich after sealing transfer from Chelsea

Jackson completed his loan move to Bavaria in the final days of the transfer window after a back-and-forth where Chelsea, at one stage, appeared set to block the move due to an injury to Liam Delap. The 24-year-old's eventual move included a £13 million (€15m/$17.5m) loan fee and a £56.2m (€65m/$76m) obligation to buy, resulting in a potential package of almost £70m ($94m) for the Blues. Jackson will now get to play alongside England captain Kane at Bayern after reportedly waiving a part of a fee he was owed to force through the move.

Jackson was pushed out at Stamford Bridge after strikers Delap and Joao Pedro arrived over the summer. Coupled with a context where the Senegalese had been sent off twice in quick succession for Chelsea, Enzo Maresca was keen to move on from the former Villarreal striker. But Jackson struck 30 goals in two seasons with the Blues and could conceivably form a lethal strike-force alongside Kane in Munich.

Jackson told Tuttosport: "The most important thing won't be Harry and I, but the whole team. It's a huge honour. Kane is one of the best strikers in the world. I hope to learn from him, complement his game, and build a strong bond on the pitch. We are two strikers who complement each other very well on the pitch, and we will work hard to ensure the results live up to expectations. Playing with a striker of his calibre and all the others will definitely help me improve."

Jackson has yet to make his Bundesliga debut for Bayern and could well do so against Hamburg at Allianz Arena after the international break. Incredibly, Bayern face Jackson's parent club Chelsea in both sides' opening Champions League fixture at the Allianz on September 17. Due to UEFA rules on loan players, Jackson will in fact be allowed to play against the Blues and will hope to make a decisive contribution alongside Kane.
