THE BIGGER PICTURE
The 28-year-old has been training with the Italian club since December, having been without a club following his exit from Everton in the summer. Injury kept him sidelined for the entirety of the 2023-24 campaign and he last featured in a competitive match in February 2023 while on loan at Besiktas.
The 37-time England international's signing will likely be announced in the coming days as he looks to get his career back on track following a rough few years.
