    WHAT HAPPENED?

Sancho was outcast from Manchester United last season after a rather public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag over a training dispute. The winger then joined Borussia Dortmund on loan in the winter transfer window, upon his return it was clear that he did not have a big role at Old Trafford which prompted a loan move to Enzo Maresca's side with an obligation to buy next summer.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

So far this season, Chelsea and Maresca have appeared to have found the perfect role for the once-highly-rated winger as Sancho has gathered three assists in the Premier League as per Squwaka. Who also reported that Sancho's solo league assist tally this season (3) is more than Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount, Christian Eriksen, Joshua Zirkzee and Kobbie Mainoo's assist tally combined (2).

    WHAT SANCHO SAID

Speaking to Chelsea media, Sancho discussed his Stamford Bridge debut during Chelsea's 4-2 win over Brighton and said: "I thought I started off a bit slow but I feel like I grew into the game. I managed to win the penalty and I got the assist for Cole, so I’m happy to be able to contribute.

"Overall, I was just happy to play at Stamford Bridge for the first time as a Chelsea player. It was a great feeling and I really appreciated the reception I got from the fans.

"‘It was a great feeling [to get a standing ovation from the fans] and my family and friends were in the crowd for the game, so that made it extra special.

"I'm happy to have been able to assist for goals in recent games, I’m settling in well here and I just want to keep this momentum going and keep being able to assist my team-mates. Or even get a first goal, that would be nice!"
