Socceroos Watch: Jamie Maclaren scores again for Hibernian to boost World Cup selection hopes

Australian striker Jamie Maclaren has struck his fifth goal in 12 games for Scottish side Hibernian in a 5-3 win over Kilmarnock.

On loan from German side Darmstadt 98, the 24-year-old has hit the ground running with Hibs and has now scored in consecutive games.

Maclaren got his side's third goal in the 63rd minute controlling a lobbed ball through to him at the back post and slotting past the keeper to the bottom left of goal.

With veteran Socceroos striker Tim Cahill lacking minutes ahead of the World Cup, Maclaren's firmly putting his hand up for selection.

The former Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar man has featured just five times for the Socceroos and is yet to score for the senior side.

He was included in an extended squad for friendlies against Norway and Colombia in March before being one of three players cut.

But with yet another goal to his name, Bert van Marwijk will be finding it harder and harder to leave Maclaren's name from his next squad.

Check out his goal from a fan's point of view below.
