Shock as Camp Toyoyo is picked to stage KPL matches

League managers have been forced to use the unlikeliest venues for top flight matches

Kenyan Premier League Limited have clearly run short of football fields as the league enters round six.

Following the closure of Kasarani and Nyayo stadia, the first five rounds of KPL have been played in a limited number of pitches with many of the matches being double headers.

According to an official fixture released on Tuesday, Camp Toyoyo ground, which has been hosting National Super League matches, has been allocated a top flight match pitting Sofapaka against Kakamega Homeboyz.

Pitches like Thika Sub-County stadium are basically worn out and all eyes are open to see how the whole problem of stadia in the country will be solved owing to the fact that the government failed to fulfil their promise of building five stadia.
