'Relegation' tag haunting Thika United FC

Thika United coach James Nandwa has conceded it is a challenge for the club to sign players they want.

Football Kenya Federation had earlier announced that the club, alongside Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka, have been relegated after failing to comply with Caf Licensing requirements. Nandwa is however, optimistic the team will remain in the top tier pending approval from the federation by Friday.

"Actually we are struggling to sign players because of what is going on, it is not easy to convince a player to sign for a club whose fate hangs in balance. We had submitted all the papers as required and we hope that we will get a positive feedback by the end of the week," Nandwa told Goal.

"But we are training and keeping fit for the season hoping to take part in the Kenyan Premier League."

KPL champions Tusker still hunting for players

Nandwa helped the team to bounce back from a poor start last season to finish twelfth with thirty four points.
