Olunga to join Chinese club in record deal

Kenyan striker Michael Olunga is set to leave his Swedish side IF Djurgardens to China on a record deal.

Swedish newspaper Expressen has reported that talks with the newly promoted Chinese Super League outfit Hengfeng Guizhou Zhicheng FC are at advanced stage and that the Harambee Stars forward could seal a 40 Million Swedish Krona move.

Olunga’s agent Patrick Dark has also reasserted that in deed the player will be the most expensively sold from Sweden if he leaves Djurgardens.

“I cannot confirm anything except that if Olunga is sold, it will be the most expensive deal from a Stockholm club ever.”

Djurgårdens' sporting director Bosse Andersson is however cautious in the talk only insisting that no deal has been done but admitting that discussions with a number of clubs are underway. “We are in discussions with some clubs but we have no deal.”
