Newcastle Jets part ways with manager Mark Jones

Newcastle Jets have announced that the club will part ways with head coach Mark Jones after finishing bottom of the league. 

Jones took over the job in September 2016, but the club finished with just five wins in 27 matches this season.

Senior assistant coach Clayton Zane will take over the trainig sessions until the players break for their annual leave, with a new coach to be appointed by the start of pre-season in late June. 

Jets closed the season with a 2-0 loss to Sydney FC Saturday.
