Ahead of Selangor's Super League match against T-Team in Kuala Terengganu on Wednesday, the Red Giants boss Maniam Pachaiappan has said that he has no lofty objectives for his men, aside from simply to see them playing better.

He told Goal that playing against a T-Team side that is high on confidence after pummeling one-time league leaders Kedah 5-0 in the previous round, he just wants to see his charges improve individually.

"We know that T-Team's confidence level is very high after beating Kedah, so our target is to perform better. That's the most important thing.

"The players must perform better individually, they have to work as a team, work hard and avoid conceding.

"Then we have to create chances to score goals," said Maniam on Tuesday.

Although the Red Giants (16 points) are in fourth and the Titans are in seventh in the standings, both sides are only separated by three points, and a win for the home side may see them leap to as high as the fifth spot, depending on the results of the matches involving Perak and Kelantan.

Both sides have already secured their 2017 Malaysia Cup spots.

The two sides met four times last season, with the Red Giants winning three encounters and the remaining match won by the Titans.
