Manchester derby team news: Rashford and Martial start for United, Aguero dropped for City

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have been named in the Manchester United starting XI for the Manchester derby, while Sergio Aguero is dropped to the bench for City.

Jose Mourinho has picked Rashford and Martial in the same starting line-up only 13 times previously in his 18 months in charge at Old Trafford, but the pair start either side of lone striker Romelu Lukaku at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Mourinho reverts to the four-man back-line which he has favoured against similarly shaped opponents this season but he has been unable to call upon the injured Marouane Fellaini, meaning Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic start in midfield in the absence of the suspended Paul Pogba. Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns among the substitutes.

Pep Guardiola's big call is to leave club record scorer Sergio Aguero out of the starting XI, prefering Gabriel Jesus in attack instead. David Silva is fit as expected and takes up one of the three midfield slots alongside Kevin De Bruyne and Fernandinho.

Man City starting XI: Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Kompany (c), Delph, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, D Silva, Sterling, Sane, Jesus. Subs: Bravo, Danilo, Gundogan, Aguero, Mangala, B Silva, Zinchenko.
