It seems Keagan Dolly won’t be on Mamelodi Sundowns' Christmas list any time soon.
Sundowns claim that that they do not know the whereabouts of the 24-year-old attacking midfielder.
The Chloorkop-based club has stated that they only heard reports of Dolly being in France through the media and the player’s friends.
“We only saw the various media reports. We had heard via the player’s friends that he was abroad. The French club did not communicate with us either. We gave Dolly his passport and everything to go realise his dreams," Sundowns media officer Thulani Thuswa told SunSport .
Dolly’s representatives and Sundowns have been at loggerheads for some time. It was hoped that the player's impending move to France would see the two parties end things amicably.
However, the Tshwane giants are not happy with the talented midfielder's actions and have hit back at the player for not informing them.
“We were even unfairly accused of blocking his move overseas. We would have hoped that the French club and Dolly would keep us informed of the proceedings – so we don’t get the information via the media,” Thuswa said.
The Westbury native has reportedly arrived in France - pending a medical will look to finalise his deal with French Ligue 1 club.
Montpellier triggered his R24 million buyout clause forcing Sundowns to release the player.
