They've been happy to have control of the ball in long periods, though they'll of course still be ruing Moreno's missed opportunity to send them back into the lead. If it finishes 1-1, we're into an interesting and complicated last day of Group E. At the moment, Sweden top the table, with Slovakia in second and Spain in third. It's very possible that La Roja will be headed into the final group game on just two points.

Olmo goes down right outside of the box, and the refree points to the spot to signal a free-kick. Moreno strikes with a powerful shot, but it's about a yard wide - but enough to force movement&nbsp;out of Sczesny.

Despite the heavy criticism that Morata has been facing all tournament (and in the build-up to it), the Spain forward was positioned perfectly to score the opener – and La Roja can breathe a collective sigh of relief. It's a bit of pressure off of Morata's shoulders, too – and he celebrated by running straight to coach Luis Enrique and enveloping him in a hug, which was happily returned. Vamos!

Oh, wow! After Alvaro Morata's shot was initially disallowed for being offisde, the referee has overturned his decision after VAR consultation and has given the goal. Spain have finally scored their first goal in the tournament!

Spain finally challenge the Poland goal for the first time and get numbers in the box after a spell of possession, but Moreno's shot is ultimately blocked. Poland get the counter-attack away quickly, with none other than Lewandowski leading the line – but he loses the ball before being able to get a shot –&nbsp;despite trying to claim a foul.

Spain broke a record for passing numbers in their opener with Sweden, but failed to have any of it count with a goal, the game ending in a disappointing 0-0 stalemate. La Roja are continuing to be pass-happy today against Poland, but will the outcome be different this time? There's a glaring, number nine-shaped hole in their forward, even with Alvaro Morata there.

Group F, as it stands

Better late than never to show up at the party - and that result has put Germany firmly on the front foot heading towards the knockout stages. They move second, ahead of Portugal despite level points, thanks to a superior head-to-head record. France cling on to first, after the visitors in Munich were unable to make them quite pay for that draw with Hungary.

The comeback kid

There's going to be four extra minutes at Allianz Arena; four minutes for Germany to not concede twice. This is more than just a first win of Euro 2020 for Germany - it is a morale boost of a result heading into that clash with Hungary, one where they will surely be the favourites after this performance. For Portugal, it is a missed chance - a huge missed chance - to put themselves in the driving seat of Group F.

Danilo Pereira takes a clip to the head from Thomas Muller now and the Portugal man is less than happy with it. Referee Anthony Taylor has some words for the Germany man but otherwise he eludes any further action. The visitors are running out of time here. Germany's heads have not dropped since that most recent concession. Munich roars them on.

Hosts hold firm in final minutes

Leon Goretzka now goes close and Portugal can count their lucky stars. Surely, at this stage of the game, there is no unlikely comeback in the works if Germany find a fifth. It's a fine effort from the substitute, just a little too high to make its mark. Andre Silva now replaces Diogo Jota for Portugal.

What an absolute blast that was from&nbsp;Renato Sanches! He scored a long-distance effort at Euro 2016 five years ago and puts approximately the weight of a A4 Pacific locomotive behind his shot now, firing one in from a short corner. It is a wonder the woodwork, which he hits, hasn't simply splintered. My word, that was a rattler of a strike.

Diogo Jota has now been involved in ten goals in nine starts for Portugal in all competitions (7 goals, 3 assists) - but is it going to be enough to spark a full-blown Portugal comeback? The noise at Allianz Arena has dimmed, but not by much. It is still a stadium crammed with sound, as&nbsp;Leon Goretzka and&nbsp;Niklas Sule both enter the fray. Germany have a quarter-hour - and a bit - to ensure they do not concede two more goals in this game.

Woes exposed in madcap game

This makes up for all those narrow games so far, doesn't it? You wanted goals; you're gonna get goals, folks! As it stands, Germany have a two-goal cushion, one which should - should - see them through this game. But Portugal just proved how they can cut them open at set-pieces, and that will remain a major worry for Joachim Low. The two sides take on water now before we get back underway, in what has been a breathlessly entertaining encounter.

Six-goal thriller takes latest twist

It's not over until you hear the bell! Diogo Jota has struck back for Portugal with a lifeline, one aided by - who else? - Cristiano Ronaldo, to set up what could yet be a grandstand final quarter. A fairly innocuous free-kick is nudged towards the right post on the far side by Joao Moutinho, the captain lashes it back across the six-yard area and the Liverpool man buries it in the roof of the net at close-range. Game on!

It's the last act of the Atalanta man too, who makes way along with Mats Hummels for the hosts. Emre Can and&nbsp;Marcel Halstenberg have joined the fray in their place. It is a long way - a very long way - back for Portugal. The slickness of that counter-attack finish from Ronaldo is a distant memory now. This is getting very messy for them - and Bruno Fernandes is removed now for Joao Moutinho.

Germany are running rampant in Munich! Portugal have been poleaxed! Robin Gosens has arguably been the hosts' best player on the pitch and he gets his just rewards now. He presses high, and it is wing-back to wing-back stuff, with Joshua Kimmich looping a perfect delivery into the six-yard area for him to bury at close-range. What absolutely wonderful stuff. Joachim Low's side have answered their critics - and then some - with this performance.

Hear 'em roar

Back-to-back free-kicks for Portugal around the edge of Germany's box allows them the chance to build some pressure now but their self-belief has taken a huge hit across the last quarter-hour or so of football. Cristiano Ronaldo goes closest with the latter attempt, whistling it just over the top-right corner from almost 30 yards out on the left flank.

Joachim Low will undoubtedly be more pleased with that score. Indeed, up until Ronaldo picked their pocket on the break, his side had looked superior in most respects. He may feel emboldened by that effort - but just what his side will do next is anyone's guess. Do they press for a third to potentially shut this game down? Well now. That truly was an assist better than Bill Murray in Space Jam for Germany - and they didn't even have to turn to their own bench to do it. Cristiano Ronaldo's latest record-matching feat of skill has been overshadowed by Portugal's moments of madness at the back, handing Joachim Low's side the lead at the interval in Group F. The noise has gone through the roof at Allianz Arena. It's a right Munich mess Fernando Santos' side have got themselves into. Can they dig themselves back out of it again?

An unlikely helping hand

What on earth will be going through Cristiano Ronaldo's mind right now? What about that of his coach Fernando Santos? Portugal have stuck the ball into their own goal twice in a handful of minutes to put Germany back on the front foot. It's been bedlam at the back, poor positional efforts crafting a self-sabotage worthy of&nbsp;Icarus. Fly too close to this German sun, and you get your wings clipped, it seems. Remarkable scenes.

There's absolutely no doubt about that one as an own goal! Portugal have imploded at the back and Germany lead! That's two the visitors have put past their own keeper Rui Patricio, in the space of four minutes, and the hosts have sealed a remarkable first-half turnaround in Munich. Thomas Muller lifts the ball into the box after an initial deflection and Kai Havertz can't bring it down at the near-left post. It flicks across to the right and Joshua Kimmich lunges to try and parry it back in.&nbsp;Raphael Guerreiro lunges for it too - and launches it into the roof of his own net. Just who was it?

Germany break back even - and what a pacey finish that is from the hosts! It looks like Ruben Dias has the final touch, as he attempts to push his leg across Kai Havertz in the box, but instead, the Portuguese defender turns the ball past Rui Patricio and into his own net from six yards out. Joshua Kimmich laid on a beautiful cross from the right flank, pushed back into the box by&nbsp;Robin Gosens and it is a matter of inches between who bundles it in. Havertz gets the goal for now - but the important thing for Germany is that they are level now. Munich is delighted.

Pepe goes to ground after catching himself in an unruly challenge and needs a spot of medical attention from his nation's physios. He seems fine to continue and no change is needed. There's been seven shots in this game so far, four on target, including three for Germany. The lone Portuguese effort, of course, is Ronaldo's goal. Bernardo Silva is caught by the offside flag now as he looks to exploit a gap at the back on the right.

After a cooling break - it is 30 degrees Celsius in Munich today, a steaming summer scorcher - Havertz puts the barge in on&nbsp;William Carvalho as play resumes, and Portugal&nbsp;have a free-kick in a tempting spot. Jota heads it over the crossbar, unable to bring it back to earth. Germany respond with&nbsp;Joshua Kimmich sticking a low cross straight to Patricio.

Both sides trade chances in sweaty battle

Poor old Germany and Joachim Low. They haven't caught a break at this tournament, have they? A fuddy-duddy own goal against France. An effort chalked off by VAR here. Now, they are on the back foot once more and facing an uphill battle. But there are a host of World Cup winners among this side. They will be determined to not go quietly into the Munich evening, surely.

That is Cristiano Ronaldo's first goal against Germany at international level and he has done it in their own backyard. Make that three goals for the 36-year-old at Euro 2020, in just two games - and make that another effort in pursuit of Iran's&nbsp;Ali Daei too. The latter has 109 international goals, more than any other figure at this level in the men's game. Ronaldo now has 107.

Reunited (and it feels so good)

They may not have that out-and-out striker there, but Germany are finding it much easier to gain a foothold in the final third in these opening minutes than they ever did against France, in all seriousness. Moments after the visitors are flagged for offside, Portugal are put on the back-foot by some shrewd driving runs. Kai Havertz causes some headaches in the box and Gnabry finds a deflected ball pushed into his path, unable to smuggle the shot away in the end. This is lively stuff and Allianz Arena has responded in full voice.

Germany mount impressive start

What a finish that is from&nbsp;Robin Gosens - but it's not going to count for Germany! A lovely ball is floated across the box, at which Serge Gnabry lunges and misses. Portugal's defence are caught out however by the far post at the left, where the Atalanta man somehow smothers an acrobatic finish in at close-range. Unfortunately, VAR rules it out for an offside incursion in the build-up and the hosts' wait for a first tournament goal goes on.

It's been over two whole major tournament games since Germany last netted a goal, and they'll have to break that streak today. Just how much control they will have over that remains an issue though. Portugal can be a deceptively hard side to rob of possession, and then there is the matter of creating those chances when the ball actually falls to Joachim Low's men. We saw England struggle to set up opportunities at Wembley yesterday. Will it prove the same in Munich for Germany?

Will it pay off for them? England's Anthony Taylor is the referee - for the first time since he was in charge of Denmark's game with Finland, where his quick thinking drew plaudits across the sport.

Anthem time

It's an unchanged Germany XI against an unchanged Portugal side in Munich - perhaps more surprisingly so for the former than the latter. This is a crucial game for both. Victory sends Fernando Santos and his side to the last-16, making them the fourth team in the knockout stage hat. Defeat may well prove to be the crucial blow that ends Joachim Low's reign on a whimper, his glorious legacy perhaps tarnished eve more so than the events of Russia 2018. Here come both sides!

That is an eyebrow-raising formation from Joachim Low again, unchanged without a clear-cut striker. Jurgen Klopp - once mooted as his successor - has come to his defence, even if he admits he would have done it differently. "Every coach has the right to play as he sees fit. I would play a back four with this team," he's told&nbsp;Magenta TV. "I can imagine a midfield with Joshua Kimmich, Toni Kroos and Ilkay Gundogan extremely well."

Klopp backs Low's right to selection

France striker Antoine Griezmann says that Les Bleus are unfazed after dropping points at Puskas Arena, adding that the conditions played a key part in a result against a side whom he was quick to pay respect to too. "It was a tough game in front of a home crowd," he tells beIN Sports.&nbsp;"We lost our way with the stadium full, we couldn't get along, the pitch was dry and it was super hot.&nbsp; "We got caught on a counter-attack. We couldn't find each other or put the chances away that we had in the first half. And we paid for it. It's remarkable just how much of Portugal's dialogue since that Hungary win has been dominated by Cristiano Ronaldo moving two bottles of soft drink - or fizzy pop, for those in the know - off a table, but it certainly caused a stir on Wall Street. Joachim Low's side did not deliver a particularly eye-catching performance against France in their maiden game of Euro 2020, but given that they were only undone by an unfortunate own goal, they may take some solace. Further back however, it has been far from an easy ride since the start of last year for today's home side - albeit designated as the away team. A 6-0 drubbing to Spain was an embarrassment; a 2-1 reverse to North Macedonia arguably more so.
