Ghana vs Tunisia Betting Preview: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Ghana are clear favourites against Tunisia when the two sides meet in the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars reached the knockout stages after two draws and a win in their final group game against Guinea-Bissau, and having made at least the semi-finals in each of the last six tournaments, they will be confident of continuing qualifying for the last eight.

Tunisia, meanwhile, have drawn all three of their matches in the competition so far, and have only won one of their last five meetings with Ghana.

bet365 offer Kwesi Appiah's side at 7/5 (2.40) to win in 90 minutes and at 4/6 (1.66) to qualify. Tunisia for their part can be backed at 12/5 (3.40) to win without extra tima and at 11/10 (2.10) to make the quarter-finals.

Team news

Ghana defender John Boye was sent off in the opening group game, but returned from suspension in their last match and is available once more for selection.

Tunisia are waiting on the fitness of forward Wahbi Khazri, who picked up a muscle injury in the final group game against Mauritania and is a doubt for Monday's clash.

Preview

Ghana started the tournament shakily with a 2-2 draw against Benin, although the Squirrels' subsequent shock progress to the quarter-finals has put that result into some context.

A hard-fought draw against rivals Cameroon was followed by a professional 2-0 success over Guinea-Bissau, and the four-time winners are hoping to continue their improvement.

Tunisia looked disappointing in their 0-0 draw against Mauritania and a robust Ghanaian midfield are likely to limit their opportunities once more.

The Black Stars' central duo of Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey and Alaves' Mubarak Wakaso should be able to marshal things and give Appiah's side control of the game, while up front Ghana are a more threatening prospect than their northern rivals.

Tips and predictions

Ghana to win in 90 minutes at 7/5 (2.40) certainly looks like a viable option, while backing them to win to nil at 21/10 (3.10) could also be of interest.
