  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Mendy, who had been sidelined for four months after surgery on his hamstring, returned to action on Tuesday in a Central League fixture as Wrexham reserves faced Stoke City's U-21 side. The Gambian defender contributed with an assist on his return as he spent more than an hour on the pitch. The Red Dragons clinched a 3-2 win courtesy of Jake Bickerstaff's hat-trick.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Mendy suffered a hamstring injury that ruled him out of action towards the end of March. He then underwent surgery over the summer and is now slowly regaining fitness to make a comeback to the Wrexham first team. Along with the Gambian, Paul Mullin is also back in training after he underwent a minor spinal surgery.

    WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

    The Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney-owned side have made an unbeaten start to the new League One season and will be back in action on Saturday against Reading, but it remains to be seen if Mendy or Mullin will be included in Parkinson's squad.
