When asked on Sky Sports if he thinks Ten Hag's job is on the line, Rooney said: "I think they all are. Manager, coaches, players, recruitment, the whole club.
"They've obviously got some difficult games coming up, and then they've got the FA Cup Final. So for me as a player, now you need to show you where to you want to play for this football club, and you've got a big game to end the season against Manchester City, but that has to start from today. You can't just turn it on in an FA Cup final. So it has to start from today and go on up until our final.
He added: "We finished seventh with under David Moyes when I was here. I know that Moyes lost his job, but it never, ever felt as bad as what it is now."
