'Tough to take' - Vivianne Miedema delivers honest message as Man City's Champions League chase hopes suffer huge blow in last-gasp defeat to Chelsea

City's hopes of qualifying for the Women's Champions League took a massive hit on Sunday after Nick Cushing's side suffered a disappointing loss against WSL leaders Chelsea in injury time. After taking the lead through Kerolin, City dropped their lead and went on to concede an injury-time winner from Erin Cuthbert.

City are now seven points behind Arsenal and Manchester United, who occupy the last two Women's Champions League spots on the WSL standings. Miedema has now provided an honest and strong message after City's defeat.

On Instagram, Miedema wrote: "Difficult one to take. Recover and we will go again on Thursday. Big games coming."

Miedema will be back in action again when City take on Chelsea yet again, this time in the Women's Champions League quarter-final second leg on Thursday, March 27.
