THE BIGGER PICTURE
Toone's United team finished fifth in the WSL last season, in what was a difficult campaign, but they lifted the FA Cup for the first time. She and her team-mates will hope to mount a challenge for the league title this season.

Toone, who has just been named United's new vice-captain, will hope the Red Devils can start the 2024-25 season with a bang when they face West Ham at home on September 21 before rounding off the month away to Everton eight days later.
