USWNT star Alex Morgan reps NCAA sensation Caitlin Clark's Iowa jersey before San Diego Wave opener

The USWNT superstar showed up to the game with the black and yellow jersey on, posing for photos while repping the basketball sensation 24 hours after Clark led the Hawkeyes to a Round-One 91-65 victory over Holy Cross.

Morgan, wearing the No. 22 jersey, posted the photos herself on social media in an epic crossover between the two incredible athletes.

Morgan and the Wave fell in their home-opener, which arrived one week after claiming the NWSL Challenge Cup over Gotham FC, to the Kansas City Current 2-1. The USWNT star failed to get on the scoresheet after managing to net the winner in her previous outing.

Clark, meanwhile, had 27 points in their opening match as the top-seeded Hawkeyes claimed a 26-point victory. Expected to be the No.1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, this tournament is Clark's last hoorah in an Iowa jersey as she looks to end her historic collegiate career on the highest note possible.

In her 12th tournament appearance over the weekend, she scored her 339th point for Iowa in bracket play. She's averaged 28.3 points-per-game for the Hawkeyes in her historic college career, but across four years at the NCAA level, she scored 3,798 points for Iowa; a Division-One record. Morgan herself congratulated the guard herself in February after she broke the record.

The Wave will take on Seattle Reign FC Friday evening in a primetime NWSL clash as Morgan and Co search for their first three points of the season. Clark and Iowa, meanwhile, will take on No.5 ranked West Virginia Monday evening for a chance at a berth in the Sweet-Sixteen.
