'A long time coming' - USMNT star Tyler Adams sends message after FINALLY returning to the pitch for Bournemouth following injury nightmare

Adams remained sidelined after he underwent back surgery following the United States men's national team's early exit from Copa America 2024. After spending months in recovery, the midfielder finally returned to action for Bournemouth in their 1-1 draw against Aston Villa in the Premier League last Saturday as he replaced Ryan Christie in the 81st minute.

The 25-year-old has been struggling with injuries since the Spring of 2023 and has only made one start under Andoni Iraola since arriving via transfer from Leeds United that summer. During the 2023-24 campaign, the player made just four appearances for the Cherries, accumulating 148 minutes of competitive play due to different injuries.

After the Premier League encounter, Adams took to Instagram to thank his fans and colleagues as he wrote, "A long time coming. Excited to be back with the boys. Thank you for everyone’s support along the way."

After staging a last-minute comeback that earned them an important point last weekend, Iraola's men will now prepare to face reigning English champions Manchester City on Saturday at home.
