U.S. international striker Josh Sargent scored a brace to lead Norwich City to a 4-2 victory over Stoke City in the English Championship last weekend. The striker's recent success has led to a chant for the 25-year-old from the club's faithful fans.

Sargent's first goal came three minutes into the second half, breaking a 1-1 deadlock. After a Stoke City defender tripped Ante Crnac in the penalty area, Sargent pounced on the loose ball and drilled an eight-yard shot past goalkeeper Viktor Johansson. The American striker secured his brace in the 71st minute, finishing off a feed from Borja Sainz to give Norwich a comfortable 3-1 lead.
With a recent uptick in performance, Sargent hopes it will mean more opportunity with the U.S. national team.
"Of course, I want to get back with the guys and be with the national team any chance I get to be back there," Sargent said. "I want to take my opportunity to finally get going with them and score some goals.

While a title push and an automatic promotion spot are out of Norwich City’s reach, the Canaries are back in the hunt for a playoff spot thanks to their recent form. They’ve moved to within four points of sixth place Blackburn Rovers and face the Rovers themselves in their next league game. That is before back-to-back home games against Oxford United and Sheffield Wednesday.
