Thiago Silva to manage Chelsea? Blues already looking to the future after replacing Mauricio Pochettino with Enzo Maresca

According to Evening Standard, the Blues want to create a coaching production line to develop the next generation of managerial talent. The report states Chelsea would welcome Silva, who recently left the club for Fluminense, back in a coaching role and they feel by growing their multi-club network to teams across the world, that could allow the Brazilian and other players the chance to hone their managerial skills there before returning to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea recruited Enzo Maresca from Leicester as their new head coach earlier this month, replacing Mauricio Pochettino. This was partly due to his apprenticeship under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City but if Chelsea's parent company, BlueCo, can expand their network from the west London side and Strasbourg, they may be setting themselves on the right track in the future in a managerial sense.

Todd Boehly's Chelsea side are reportedly keen on replicating the success of the City Football Group, which includes clubs such as City, Girona, and more. BlueCo have also been linked with teams such as Portuguese teams Portimonense and Sporting CP, along with sides in France, Belgium, and South America.

For the time being, Chelsea will hope new boss Maresca, who led Leicester to the Championship title in his first and only season in charge there, can hit the ground running for the 2024-25 Premier League season.
