Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson died millions of pounds in debt, with his family forced to sell off his football trophies.
According to The Mirror, Eriksson's partner Yaniseth Alcides and children Lina and Johan plan to stage a special auction o his football memorabilia to help raise much-needed funds as the Swede was revealed to have debts of £8.6 million. Much of this debt reportedly stems from losing £10m to financial advisor Samir Khan, to whom he entrusfted his fortune in 2007. He later took Khan to court and won but never got the money back.

WHAT ERIKSSON'S LAWYER SAID
Ahead of Eriksson's trophies and prizes being sold, his lawyer Anders Runebjer told The Mirror: "They have a lot of memorabilia that will be sold at an auction. There are a lot of items that they kept. It will be announced and the auction will be internet based."

Eriksson enjoyed a glittering managerial career, taking charge of England, Lazio, Roma, Manchester City, Mexico and more. After losing the ex-Leicester City manager at the age of 76 last August, his family now have to deal with these hefty debts in the space of a matter of months. His family home is also up for sale.
