'He'll be missed' - Rob McElhenney sends fond farewell message as Wrexham confirm defender's exit on deadline day

Wrexham announced on deadline day that the full-back and club had mutually terminated their contract following an agreement between the two parties. In a touching show of grace, McElhenney sent a message to the defender on X.

In his post on X, McElhenney said: "Great player and great young man. He will be missed."

Hosannah played 46 games for the Red Dragons in all competitions after moving to North Wales from Leeds United in 2021. The 24-year-old made just three appearances this season after helping the team secure last season's record-breaking, championship-winning 2022–23 National League campaign.

Hossanah's departure is part of a clear-out at the Welsh club after they made four signings this window. McElhenney and co-owner Ryan Reynolds will have been conscious of keeping their squad under the League Two registration limit of 21 players.
