    THE BIGGER PICTURE

City have a series of testing fixtures soon after the international break. The champions face Premier League leaders Arsenal in a top-of-the-table showdown on Sunday before facing Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. They then head to Spain to meet Real Madrid in a Champions League quarter-final first leg on April 9.

Stones' injury comes just three days after his club team-mate Kyle Walker hurt a muscle in England's 1-0 defeat by Brazil and was sent home from the Three Lions' training camp and back to City. However, Walker's injury is not feared to be a serious one.
