Neymar has suggested he could be reunited with Lionel Messi as the Brazilian said he wants to play alongside his former Barcelona team-mate again.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The South American pair spent four years playing alongside each other at Barcelona before they were brought back together for another two years at Paris Saint-Germain. Asked if there is a chance they could enjoy a third spell alongside each other, Neymar gave some hope to fans who want a reunion.

While at the Bahrain Grand Prix, he was asked by ESPN if he could play alongside the Argentine sensation again in the future, Neymar replied: "I hope we do play together again. Leo is a great person. Anyone in football, everyone knows him. I think he is very happy. If he is happy, I am too."

Messi and Neymar won two La Liga titles as well as two Champions League crowns at Camp Nou before going on to win Ligue 1 on consecutive occasions at PSG. Messi then left to join MLS side Inter Miami, while Neymar signed a lucrative deal to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal.

WHAT NEXT FOR NEYMAR AND MESSI?
Neymar is currently recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury he sustained shortly after he made the move to the Saudi Pro League and is expected to miss the Copa America with Brazil this summer.
