  • Timbers reduced to 10-men in controversial fashion
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

A Maxime Crepeau red card in the 48th minute put the Polish striker in a perfect spot on the edge of the 18-yard-box, and he didn't let the opportunity pass. Stepping up, he curled home a wicked dipping effort, leaving substitute goalkeeper James Pantemis - who replaced Crepeau - standing still.

The strike was his second of the game, and the goal that earned his club a point on the day.

The free kick came via the red card foul, and it arrived in controversial fashion. There was not a camera angle available to show whether or not a Timbers defender has stepped behind Crepeau on the far side of the box, meaning that with what VAR had to work with, the goalkeeper was deemed to be the last defender back. As a result, DOGSO was the ruling from the center official, as the foul was not a clear and obvious error after being called on the pitch.
