Massimiliano Allegri to make San Siro comeback! AC Milan in advanced talks with six-time Serie A winner as he closes in on return to club he managed between 2010 and 2014

According to a report by journalist Matteo Moretto, Italian manager Massimiliano Allegri is the first-choice candidate on Milan's radar to replace Sergio Conceicao, and the club is close to securing a verbal agreement with the 57-year-old.

Milan experienced a dismal season, marked by a mid-season managerial change, and failed to secure a spot in the Champions League, finishing eighth with 63 points. Conceicao was brought in at the start of the year, replacing Paulo Fonseca. However, despite winning the Supercoppa Italia in January, results in Serie A and the Coppa Italia did not go in his team's favour. The club had also considered options like Thiago Motta, but reports have now emerged suggesting that Allegri is the leading candidate.

Allegri managed Milan for 1,292 days, from July 2010 to January 2014, taking charge of 178 games. Under his leadership, the Rossoneri won 91 matches, drew 49, and lost just 38, winning Serie A in 2011.

Before the new campaign begins, they are scheduled to play friendly matches against the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Perth Glory, and Leeds United.
