Odegaard insisted the champions are determined to attack the new season rather than simply defend their crown, while expressing relief at returning to full fitness following an injury-plagued campaign. Speaking to the BBC, Odegaard said: "We don't feel we have to defend anything. We want to do it again and that's the mindset. Last year is finished now, we want to do it again, and we want to attack it and fight for it again."
Reflecting on his physical battles, the skipper told Sky Sports: "Last season was a big struggle for me, I had too many injuries and weird situations and bad luck. I could never find a rhythm. It's hard when you are in and out and not 100% fit. It was hard. But I feel good now. My body is good after a good World Cup and pre-season. I'm feeling 100%."
