Mario Balotelli on the move again? Ex-Man City striker could leave Genoa after just two months with shock transfer lined up

Balotelli joined Serie A side Genoa in October as a free agent after having left Adana Demirspor in the summer following the end of his contract with the side. However, things haven’t gone as swimmingly as the former Italy striker may have been hoping for as he has played just 56 minutes under Patrick Viera.

With the likes of Andrea Pinamonti, Jeff Ekhator and Vitinha preferred to start over Balotelli, the former Manchester City striker could make a move away from Genoa in the January transfer window. As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mexican side Cruz Azul are interested in signing the Italian striker.

Additionally, Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte, negotiations between Balotelli and the Cruz Azul hierarchy are reportedly well advanced, with only the striker's salary remaining to be finalised. The Mexican side are keen to bring in the former City forward as they are struggling in attack in Liga MX.

The winter transfer window is already open in Mexico and Cruz Azul are likely to make their official bid anytime soon for the signature of Balotelli as they look to incoprorate the Italian into the squad before the start of Liga MX Clausura.
