'They will embarrass the country!' - Man Utd warned of Champions League nightmare if they manage to win Europa League

Agbonlahor has launched a stinging attack on United, claiming they will embarrass England in the Champions League if they manage to win the Europa League this season. His comments come amidst a backdrop of poor Premier League form and uncertainty surrounding the club's future direction, despite their strong showing in European competition. They currently sit 15th in the table and could face 16th-placed Tottenham in the final, provided they beat Bilbao and Spurs navigate their second leg against Bodo/Glimt.

Amorim has repeatedly criticised his own players this season, and has claimed that United would be the worst Premier League team to win a European trophy, but Agbonlahor believes he is merely telling the truth, and has warned the club they need to spend this summer.

Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: "He's been clever, the manager, he's been honest so that the owners don't get carried away with them winning the Europa League. He knows they still need a lot of players in and a lot of players out for next season. Otherwise, they will embarrass the country in the Champions League."
