Manchester City defender Rico Lewis set to sign new five-year contract after rejecting Nottingham Forest

    According to the Daily Mail, Lewis will soon officially sign a five-year contract with City. The England defender broke into Guardiola's squad during the 2022-23 campaign and made 44 appearances in all competitions last season, playing both in central midfield and at right-back.

    His new contract shows Guardiola's desire to keep the 20-year-old at the Etihad Stadium for the years to come. City have overhauled their squad during the summer transfer window, with the likes of Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders and James Trafford all arriving. Long-time squad members Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker have both departed, while James McAtee recently completed a transfer to Forest.
