Manchester United have confirmed the signing of former Brighton striker Elisabeth Terland on an initial two-year deal.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Terland left Brighton following the expiration of her contract in June after two years at the Women's Super League team. Now, the forward, who scored 23 goals in 49 games for the Seagulls, has signed for Marc Skinner's team until 2026, with the option of a further year.

She told United's website: “I’m so honoured to sign for Manchester United and cannot wait to join up with the team. Having experienced their excellent fans from the opposing side, I’m really looking forward to having them in my corner this season.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
After losing star goalkeeper Mary Earps to Paris Saint-Germain, the arrival of Terland, defender Dominique Janssen and forward Melvine Malard has bolstered their ranks ahead of the new season. After finishing fifth in the WSL last term, Skinner's side need to improve in 2024-25.

United boss Skinner said he was looking forward to working with the 23-year-old.
