'That's unimaginable!' - Ex-Man Utd boss Louis van Gaal rules out taking Borussia Dortmund job as legendary coach reveals how he could be convinced to make return
Former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has ruled out taking over at Borussia Dortmund but has opened the door to a managerial return.
Dortmund decided to part company with Nuri Sahin earlier this week and now the German giants are on the lookout for his successor. But former Netherlands manager Van Gaal says it is "not conceivable" for him to take over at BVB. However, he would consider becoming a national team boss again.

WHAT LOUIS VAN GAAL SAID
He told Sky Germany: "No, that's unimaginable for me [taking over at Dortmund]. I would only consider a position as coach of a national team."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Dortmund have lost four games in a row and sit 10th in the Bundesliga. Ex-United manager Erik ten Hag will also not be taking over at the German team and the fact that Van Gaal has been linked - who has not been in management since leaving his Dutch national team role in 2022 - may highlight their current predicament.
