Man Utd exploring shock swoop for Man City star Jess Park amid local rivals' pursuit of Grace Clinton

United are keen on signing Lionesses star Park from City as they want to bolster their squad before the summer transfer window closes on Thursday night, according to The Guardian. Park, who graduated from City's youth system, made her senior professional debut in 2017 and has since made over 100 appearances for the club. Park has also earned 20 international caps and was part of England's Euro 2025-winning squad.

Park's link with United has cropped up amid the Cityzens' interest in signing Grace Clinton from their rivals. The 22-year-old midfielder, who is in the final year of her contract at Old Trafford, is yet to agree terms on a new deal. Clinton joined the Red Devils from Everton in 2022 but spent the majority of her first two years on loan with Bristol City and Tottenham. She finally made her United debut in 2024, and scored eight goals in 21 WSL appearances for the club last term.

Clinton's impressive performances in the 2024-25 campaign earned her a call-up to the national team for the European Championship this year, where she featured in five matches as a substitute and appeared in all three knockout games. She has earned 16 international caps to date, scoring three goals for the Lionesses.

The Women's Super League 2025-26 campaign kicks off this Friday with reigning champions Chelsea taking on Manchester City in a blockbuster opening day fixture. United, on the other hand, will play Leicester on Sunday. It remains to be seen whether Park and Clinton cross the Manchester divide before the big kick-off.
