Man Utd ready to battle Arsenal for Matheus Cunha as Wolves star's agent prepares to jet in for talks over potential £62.5m transfer

Manchester United are looking to challenge Arsenal to the signing of Matheus Cunha and are set to enter talks with the Wolves forward's agent.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Arsenal are said to be eager to lure the Brazilian to north London as they look to strengthen their attack in an attempt to challenge for the Premier League title next season. However, United have now entered the picture and there has been contact with his agent, who talkSPORT reports will soon fly to England for negotiations.

The 25-year-old will be available for £62.5 million ($80m) this summer due to a release clause in his contract that can be activated during the next transfer window. As well as United and Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are said to be interested in him.

The Brazil international has been in fine form for Wolves, having scored 15 goals in 29 matches this season. However, he has been banned for their last four matches for headbutting Milos Kerkez in the FA Cup clash against Bournemouth.
