Fitness in doubt before Champions League quarter-final
"She did take a clattering various times but I don't think that was the injury," City interim boss Nick Cushing said after the game. "She's feeling her hamstring, so we'll look at her. We'll obviously leave her with the medical team. She's a really important player for us, so hopefully she'll be ready for Wednesday. But if not, we will find a solution."
The Manchester side will certainly hope to have Shaw involved in all three of those games, with last season's WSL Golden Boot winner a near-irreplaceable figure. When she sustained an injury at the end of last term, it coincided with City letting pole position in the title race slip. There are at least more options for that position this time around, not least Vivianne Miedema, who has been playing a midfield role just behind Shaw when both have been available.

WHAT NEXT FOR SHAW AND MAN CITY?
City will hope for good news from the medical team about Shaw over the next few days, as they prepare for that Champions League first leg. The squad is already missing some huge players in Lauren Hemp and Alex Greenwood, and will need to be at their best to get revenge over the Blues.
