'Something I've rarely seen' - Luka Modric reveals what impresses him most about 'incredible' Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe

The Croatian captain offered endless praise for the French skipper ahead of their return clash in the Nations League quarter-final. Modric explained that he believes Mbappe is capable of winning multiple trophies with Madrid and even a number of Ballon d'Or trophies himself. The French forward has not had his best season in his debut campaign in the Spanish capital but has still hit 29 goals in all competitions so far. Modric expects him to continue to develop and grow.

As per RMC Sport, Modric said: "There's nothing more to say about Kylian, the footballer, he's one of the best players in the world. He has so much ability, honestly, it's something I've rarely seen. But what impresses me most about him is his personality. He's an incredible boy, very humble, always ready to make jokes, to help his teammates. He's calm. From the outside, you could say that this isn't his best season, but he's already at around thirty goals... Imagine if he raises his level.

"He's an incredible talent, one of the best I've seen. He's a wonderful boy. Let him keep doing what he's doing, let him keep helping Real Madrid win titles, and I'm sure he'll be one of the favourites in the future, not to win one but several Ballon d'Ors."

Modric and Croatia will be wary of Mbappe's endless talent as they travel to Paris with a 2-0 advantage over France. Goals from Ante Budimir and Ivan Perisic ensured they would go into the second leg with a comfortable advantage, but the tie is far from over - particularly with Mbappe in the opposition's attack. Modric's comments only suggest that they are taking his threat very seriously.

After their clash on Sunday night, the pair will return to Spain to continue their hunt for the La Liga title. Los Blancos are level on points with leaders Barcelona, having played a game more, and take on Leganes next weekend. This comes before a trip to London on the horizon to take on Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals.
