Liverpool are weighing up a big-money bid for boyhood fan Gordon, with the club looking to continue strengthening under Slot. Talks over a move were held last summer, and the Reds are now revisiting the idea as they look to reinforce their attack after they finalise a deal for Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Gordon impressed at Newcastle last season with six goals and five assists, and has been a long-term target. The Sun has now reported that Liverpool are considering putting in a bid worth £100 million ($135.6m), despite the 24-year-old having signed a new deal with the Magpies this season. Gordon is also close friends with Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones.
Liverpool have already won their first Premier League under Slot; however, they had a disappointing season in other competitions. As such, the Reds are willing to splash the cash this summer to ensure that they can challenge for more honours.
