Lionesses star Khiara Keating hands Man City's WSL title bid massive boost amid goalkeeper injury crisis

Manchester City boss Gareth Taylor has confirmed Khiara Keating is fit to face West Ham despite withdrawing from the England squad with a knee issue.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Keating had pulled out of the England squad with a knee issue but her club manager has said she is fit for their crucial WSL clash with the Hammers. Her availability averts a potential major goalkeeper crisis for City, who have already lost Sandy McIver and Ellie Roebuck for the season.

City have signed Brighton keeper Katie Startup on loan but Keating is their undisputed No.1 in nets right now. The 19-year-old broke into the first team after Roebuck suffered a stroke. Thankfully the England international is recovering well but a return remains a long way off.
WHAT TAYLOR SAID
City boss Taylor said: "She’s fine, she came back from England duty just as a precaution. She’s had an ongoing knee issue, but we’ve been managing it. We felt it was the right call to protect her."
