Joan Laporta 'charged with alleged fraud' for second time in one month over €50k payment as Barcelona president comes under fire again

Per Cadena Ser, Laporta is being investigated for alleged fraud for the second time in a month. He and his former partner, Joan Olive, are accused of failing to return €50,000 to a private investor.

Between 2016 and 2018, Laporta and Olive are alleged to have raised money from several investors into a company they run. Now, they are being accused of failing to return the money that has been invested. They are already under investigation for failing to return €4.7m (£4m/$5m) to another complainant.

Laporta is alleged to have invested the money in a company called Reus, which ended up insolvent, and into a Hong Kong company with the intention of constructing a house in Asia. Now, the lawyer fronting the suit claims that he has never been told what happened to the money.

Per the report, Laporta could soon be on the end of another lawsuit, with another victim allegedly considering coming forward.
