The Brazilian forward appeared to hurt a muscle as he attempted to chase a through ball in the first half of the Premier League game at Old Trafford. Cunha knew he had done some damage as he immediately signalled to the bench that he had to be substituted, before he then dropped to the floor.
Cunha was United's first signing of the summer, joining from Wolves for £62.5m. Although he is yet to score or get an assist he has thrilled fans in his first few matches, especially against Arsenal. But he is now a doubt for the derby against Manchester City on September 14 and United's next league fixture against Chelsea on September 21. He is almost certain to miss Brazil's next two World Cup qualifiers, at home to Chile and away to Bolivia.
