Ibrahima Konate open to Liverpool exit as PSG eye summer bid for centre-back

French champions PSG are already planning for the summer and are targeting Liverpool centre-back Konate as one of their additions, according to ESPN. Luis Enrique is believed to be after a long-term partner for Marquinhos and views the 25-year-old as an ideal recruit.

Konate is believed to be tempted by a move back to the city he was born in and where he spent five years in the Paris FC academy, but has put the matter to the back of his mind as Liverpool chase the Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Cup trophies.

The 21-cap international has just over a year left on his contract and recently admitted he has turned down Liverpool's first extension offer. His injury troubles have prevented him from playing more than 22 times in a single Premier League season since joining in 2021.

With his contract ticking down, Konate has the power to decide whether his future lies away from Anfield. Should Liverpool win major silverware this term, he may set his heart on a fresh start at a new club.
